: Champagne Supernova | Katrina Cuenca

Katrina Cuenca’s works for “Champagne Supernova” grew from the multitude of images inspired by the cosmos. The artist uses the vast idea of an interstellar voyage as a springboard to create her own organic work. With an astral perception of life, colors come in intense bursts which reflects in the flow of her sculptures.

“Champagne Supernova” is based on a cosmological perspective and the connection between microcosm and macrocosm. Cuenca’s sculptures are based on the astronomical, natural, and atmospheric optical phenomena; together with plants, trees or other elements from nature, which are visualizations and impressions of the interconnection between the inner and the outer worlds.

The works are metaphors of the similarities between spirituality, philosophy, and modern science, as Katrina Cuenca recreates a glimpse of humankind’s oneness ​with the universe.
