Foliar | Ralph Villaluz

Ralph Villaluz’ “Foliar” is an exploration of diverging pathways. The artist interprets the leaf as a symbol of the ecological environment, and also as a reflection of man’s innate duality. One side of the leaf is usually directed towards the light while the other is hidden in the shadow.

“Foliar” is Villaluz’ recognition of the mysterious nature of human lives. In response, he depicts the elements and composition in a way that allows for multiple meanings while still preserving a sense of enigma to his artworks. The balance between representation and abstraction highlights Ralph Villaluz’ fascination in creating something that goes beyond figurations as he bridges the ordinary to the fantastic.
